  • Morgan Grand Nationals Update for Premier West Stables

    10.27.11

    Posted in news

A great group of riders and horses left RSF the first part of October on a journey to OKC to participate in the largest horseshow of the season. The Morgan Grand National’s are held every year in October at the fairgrounds in Oklahoma City. It is the best quality of horses put together for our breed and Premier West held their own without a problem, with over 1000 horses we were thrilled with the effort and results.

After a 26 hour trip, the horses got to rest and lay over at a private facility before moving over to the grounds. During this time our staff readied and prepped the stalls and living area for the clients and horses. Stalls were cleaned and disinfected before fresh mats and shavings were put down to welcome our equine friends. The folks enjoyed a comfortable living area with couchs, blankets, tables, bar and large screen tv to watch the show. Fresh food, drinks and snacks were available in our kitchen 24/7 and everyone enjoyed the daily catered lunch.

So enough perks, down to showtime. At the risk of missing anyone I will do a final report of all the results shortly, but in a wrap we won two grand national classes, made the top three, top five and top ten. The group ribboned in almost every class and the horses were great. With a tough show by most standards with sick horses we felt like winners arriving to the show and home without a sick horse!

Thank you to everyone for their support and participation. The riders did a great job and our staff was top notch!
On a side note, I turned “40″ in OKC! YIKES! Thank you for such a great party!
